NAMI WALKS: FOR THE MIND OF AMERICA Pathways to Housing staff and consumers will be participating in NAMI (the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) Walks, a 5K walk to support people with mental illness and their families. We will walk with other concerned citizens in order to raise money and awareness about our country's need for a better recovery system for the mentally ill. NAMI wishes to raise $450,000, help NAMI achieve this goal! Join Pathways to Housing's team, create your own or help support walkers: Click Here for More Information When?: Saturday, May 10th Sign in held at 9am, Walk begins at 10am Where?: The walk begins at South Street Seaport, goes over the Brooklyn Bridge, and ends where it began. Keep an eye out for a large group of individuals wearing Pathways to Housing t-shirts!
Recent Past Events: THIRD ANNUAL WOMEN'S DAY EVENT March is Women's History Month and Pathways to Housing is honoring women for their courage, creativity, beauty and hope by hosting the Third Annual Women's Day Event. The Women's Day Event is an opportunity for women to feel valued and recognized for their personal growth and improvement. "Hope" is the theme for the 2008 Women's Day Event; we aim to provide a positive and celebratory environment for women to feel supported. When? March 5, 2008 from 12-4pm. Where? The Prince George Room, 15 E. 27th St. (between 5th and Madison Ave).
Feerick Center Speaker Series: Sam Tsemberis Date: 4.12.2007, 12:30 pm Location: Feerick Center Conference Room, 33 West 60th St., 2nd floor The Feerick Center Speaker series presents innovators and visionaries in the anti-poverty field. Dr. Sam Tsemberis is the Founder and Executive Director of the "Pathways to Housing" organization and will speak about his groundbreaking research and programs involving street outreach to chronically homeless individuals. He has pioneered an approach that provides immediate access to independant, permanent housing, coupled with supportive services, to individuals who are both homeless and diagnosed with severe mental iillness.
